Trip length
A tailored 3-day plan for Zanzibar
Day 1

Stone Town & the Spice Island

STONE TOWN · SPICE FARM · SUNSET DHOW
  1. ~8:30a
  2. ~9:30a
  3. ~11:30a
  4. ~1:30p
  5. ~5:00p
  6. 8:00p

Stone Town is a living UNESCO labyrinth — a guide brings its layered Swahili-Arab-Indian history alive. The spice-farm visit and the sunset dhow are essential Zanzibar; Forodhani market is a delicious, atmospheric dinner.

Day 2

The Beaches & the Reef

NORTHEAST BEACHES · SNORKEL · TIDES
  1. ~9:00a
  2. ~11:00a
  3. ~1:30p
  4. ~3:30p
  5. ~6:30p

Zanzibar's beaches are postcard-perfect, but the east-coast tides are dramatic — swimming is tide-dependent there, while the north (Nungwi, Kendwa) stays swimmable. Mnemba's reef is the snorkelling highlight.

Day 3

Marine Life & Jozani Forest

DOLPHINS · JOZANI · SEAWEED COAST
  1. ~7:30a
  2. ~11:00a
  3. ~1:00p
  4. ~3:00p
  5. ~6:30p
  6. ~8:00p

Jozani's endemic red colobus monkeys are a unique Zanzibar wildlife highlight. The southeast coast (Paje) is the island's kitesurfing hub; the Rock restaurant is a fun photo-and-drinks stop, best booked ahead.

The specialty of Zanzibar

Eat it here, then bring it home

Zanzibar's Swahili cuisine is the taste of the Spice Islands — coconut, cardamom, clove, and the sea, fused from African, Arab, and Indian trade.
