Trip length
A tailored 3-day plan for Amalfi Coast
Day 1

Positano — the Vertical Village

POSITANO · SPIAGGIA GRANDE · LA SPONDA
  1. ~9:00a
  2. ~10:30a
  3. ~12:00p
  4. ~1:30p
  5. ~4:00p
  6. 8:00p

Positano is gloriously vertical — wear good shoes for the steps and expect to climb. See the coast from a boat at least once; it's the single best way to grasp its beauty, and beats the cliffside road traffic.

Day 2

Amalfi, Ravello & the Heights

AMALFI · RAVELLO · VILLA CIMBRONE
  1. ~9:30a
  2. ~11:00a
  3. ~12:00p
  4. ~1:30p
  5. ~4:00p
  6. ~8:00p

Ravello is the coast's calm, cultured heights — escape the coastal crush up here for the gardens and the infinity views. The lemons are everything: the limoncello and lemon desserts are a true taste of place.

Day 3

Capri

CAPRI · BLUE GROTTO · ANACAPRI
  1. ~8:30a
  2. ~10:00a
  3. ~11:30a
  4. ~1:30p
  5. ~3:30p
  6. ~7:30p

Capri is magical but mobbed midday — go early or stay late for the island's real spell. The Blue Grotto depends on calm seas and calm winds; have a backup plan if it's closed.

The specialty of Amalfi Coast

Eat it here, then bring it home

The Amalfi Coast cooks with its terraced lemons, the day's catch, and Campania's sun — bright, simple, and built around the sea and the citrus that perfumes the whole coast.
