Trip length
A tailored 3-day plan for Seoul
Day 1

Palaces & the Old City

GYEONGBOKGUNG · BUKCHON · INSADONG
  1. ~8:30a
  2. 9:30a
  3. ~11:30a
  4. ~1:00p
  5. ~3:00p
  6. 8:00p

The palaces cluster in the old centre — keep this day on foot. Most palaces close Mondays, so check the day; the hanbok-for-free-entry trick is worth it.

Day 2

Markets, Myeongdong & Street Food

GWANGJANG · MYEONGDONG · NAMSAN
  1. ~9:30a
  2. ~11:30a
  3. ~1:00p
  4. ~3:00p
  5. ~6:00p

Gwangjang is busiest and best around lunch — go hungry. Myeongdong's street-food carts only really fire up late afternoon, so time the shopping for then.

Day 3

Hongdae, Han River & the Modern City

HONGDAE · YEOUIDO · DDP
  1. ~9:30a
  2. ~11:30a
  3. ~1:00p
  4. ~3:30p
  5. ~6:30p

This is the contemporary-Seoul day — bathhouse, indie cafés, the river, and Zaha Hadid's DDP lit up at night. The Han River chimaek picnic is a beloved local ritual; lean into it.

The specialty of Seoul

Eat it here, then bring it home

Seoul's food is bold and communal — barbecue, an armory of fermented banchan, and a relentless street-food and late-night culture.
